Istanbul Summer Plans (Revisited)

hey guys so its been a while since we last sort of talked about the summer... i have some updates since the end of the year (oh and happy new year all... ;) btw... i'm a little late but that's southerness i guess...). so i got a job offer in a consulting firm in san francisco and will be taking it up, and so now i'm in the process of getting a work permit and that stuff. so i'll be trying to get 4 weeks off between graduation (june 17th) and starting work, so it would be ideal for me to go to istanbul in mid-june or first week of july because i also want to go home to bangladesh for about 2 weeks because i probably won't be going back in a while. so for others with issues regarding taking holidays from work or have other scheduling problems please post, because once we set a date i'll buy tickets right away.

Hey, guys!
Speaking about date limits..here is my situation..since i am getting married on May 12 and planned to come to Turkey for honeymoon, it is ideal for me to have the reunion included..because i won't be able to take too many days off.

So, I would be happy if the reunion would be as close to May as possible..the beginning of June or something like that..I am also thinking that July would be high season and not the best choice, what do you think?
Anyway, the idea is that the sooner we agree on the dates, the better, because I will have to plan the honeymoon according to that :)

Kisses to you all,
carmen

Hey guys!
I am still alive, investment banking hasn't killed me yet!
And of course I am in for the reunion, looking forward already! Should be able to take off anytime, but somewhen in June sounds great.
Also up for any sorts of travelling beyond the Turkish motherland, though guess can't really ask for more than 2 weeks off. Damn!

Carmen: so great to hear you are getting married! All the best!

Hugs,
Sindy

Hello again and thanks a lot for your wishes; I have a special request: let's try to decide as soon as possible when we are supposed to meet in istanbul; for me it's so necessary to know because vacation plans for the year are to be decided, so I have to tell my boss when exactly I want days off..by the way, I have recently started to work for the romanian national airline as sales and ticketing agent for now and the prospectives look nice..I am so happy about it because I really wanted to work in air transport :) So, as you may guess, we are usually asked to avoid leaving work during the high season..
as I said before, for me the best would be from 14th on May on, or the first part of June..what does everyone think? How should we make sure that as many of us, former trainees, as possible, know about the reunion?

greetings,
carmen

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

First, congartulations Carmen! I am so happy for you!

Second, I have some projects at work to end before 5th of June. So from that date on... I can go to Istambul!

Carmen, is 17th of June too late for you? Cause as you might have seen Bangli has his graduation and he can't be there before. Let's try to fix a date so that even if you and Bangli won't manage to see each other... at least both will be with most of us.

Carmen, once you have more strict dates.. I would suggest that you tell us the latest you can be at Istambul. So that we can all try to be with you part of our stay and with Bangli the other part!

What do you think?

Hello, my dear Naterce!!
Ok, for everyone, I have spoken at work and it is ok to take days off in June if I need.
I was saying about as soon as possible in spring/summer because I was thinking that summer is the time when Turkey is full of tourists..the question is, do we want to care about that or just plan the things without considering it? I just wanted to bring that point into discussion to see what you all think..

Other than that, June is ok for me, just let's decide so that I know not to plan the honeymoon earlier :)
Hugs,
carmen

well, i think it's a matter of agreeing on a date so everybody who wants to come to the reunion, can come
ash can come only after june 17th, so we can compromise and fix a date as natercia proposed
aakash, you've been too quiet for too long. what about you?

Seems like mid June works best for everyone. I will try to get mid June off for 2/3 weeks. Have a huge gala event on the June 1st that I'll be working on so might be tricky. Will try to do my best.
peace, love and istanbul603!
